Running Services with netbird client for a service i.e database or monitoring analytics, ha proxy exposed for netbird only or proxied resource the ip address of the netbird client changes after a reboot or reconnection even if setting it to a specific IP Address. I have used hostnames where it is okay to substitute from an IP Address. I run healthchecks some machines send their report every hour, one day they just stopped coming when I switched the IP to netbird address after a few weeks of running fine I went to problem solve found the IP had changed, no update, no reboot, no brown/black out.
Describe the solution you’d like
The option to change the IP Address to the client is available however if a client updates the netbird client or needs a reboot sometimes the IP assigned is released and a new one is grabbed taking any relying service down. So setting static IP’s would be a must.
Describe alternatives you’ve considered
Use hostnames where available, otherwise reassign previous IP Address back to the client.
