Selfhost (only) relay while using Netbird's infrastructure

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Relayed connections can be very helpful. Though they are limited by the relay servers operated by netbird, especially in terms of bandwith.
Using relay systems for things that require a higher bandwith also blocks the bandwith for other users.

There is the option to self host a relay server, which is a good solution to this problem.
BUT this is only possible if Netbird is completely self hosted by the user.

This also puts the user in charge of having the server up and running all time to use Netbird, which is something a lot of people don’t want to do and rather use the official Netbird infrastructure for that.

Therefore making it possible to run a relay server while using Netbird’s servers for the client communication would be appreciated.
This would allow any user to take responsibility for speeding up relay connections and not running those on the back of Netbird’s infrastructure while making sure that Netbird is still in charge to connect the clients.

Describe the solution you’d like

Tailscale has a feature called “Peer Relays” which essentially allows any peer to enable a feature to be used as a relay.

This allows me to speed up connections, but Tailscale’s infrastructure still ensures that my system can connec’t to each other event when my peer relay system is down.

This is what I would like to see in Netbird.

Describe alternatives you’ve considered
Options: Staying with Tailscale, self hosting Netbird completely, using Netbird’s relay servers
