Netbird cloud: Silent changes to paid functionalities and pricing

Being an user of Team plan, I just noticed unexpected changes in licensed features of Netbird cloud offering few weeks ago.

  • First “Peer approval” functionality moved from Free tier to Business one. That’s actually a big leap, completely skipping Team plan.
  • Today I noticed in the cloud UI that price for Team plan went from €5 to €6.

I did not get any notification of this change in advance. Do we know why? It seems a little bit off to me to not being informed about changes like this. Is this going to become a standard here? :-/

Hey there!
Peer approval was in the Business plan since we introduced it. Not sure where you got this information.
The prices do not change for those that are already subscrided to NetBird. Ony to new users.

Just a quick follow-up. We discovered that the plan view in the Dashboard is incorrectly showing the new price for your current plan. However, your Stripe subscription is still on the original (old) price. The Dashboard UI is simply not reflecting it correctly.

We’re working on fixing this display issue. Please don’t worry: you will not be charged a higher amount.

Hi, thanks for checking. Yes, Stripe gateway has the correct value, it seems to be some problem in the UI - I even see €0 as estimated price for next payment, even when it should be €10.

However, there must be some confusion regarding “Peer approval”. I was running a Free plan for quite a long time, and I was always freely able to be switching that functionality on and off as requested. When I migrated to Team plan, after few weeks I switched “Peer approval” off and realized I cannot switch it back on. (Not a big deal, I am still not 100% decided if I want to use that functionality or not.) However, I am 100% sure it was available for my Free tier some time ago, so that’s why I complain.

Ok, I checked my records and I understand it now. I joined around July 2023. At that time, there was no Business plan existing yet - but Team plan was surely a thing at that time. But Device approvals were still freely available in the Free tier, that’s why it gives the impression of a big change :man_shrugging:

Could you please send us your email account to support@netbird.io referencing this thread?

Thanks. I did reply to support email address.

It seems this was just my confusion, too much at once was happening for me when I performed migration to “Entra ID”-based authentication. So it may seem like I did loose “Peer approval” functionality, but actually your explanation seem to be valid. After Business plan was introduced, since then “Peer approval” setting went behind a paywall (I just never noticed that before).
