My control center in the web panel shows only one peer at a time and no connection to other peers, even though multiple peers exist and there are Access Control Policies between them.
The device you logged in to the Dashboard will be shown as selected peer
But this is the only node shown, no other peers will be shown on the canvas, no connecting lines
Expected behavior
Multiple peers are created in my account and they have existing Access Control Policies between them, so I’d expect to see also multiple peers as nodes on the canvas and the ACPs as connecting lines between them.
Oh and let me add: I tried with Edge Version 148.0.3967.96 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit) and Chrome Version 148.0.7778.217 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit) browsers
I’m using Windows 11 and tested with Edge and Chrome Browser. It is the (cloud/ managed) web panel hosted by netbird, reachable via https://app.netbird.io/ so I think this is not related to any install-able client software?! What I see in this website (or should see) is related to my user account, so if I login to that website with any web browser from any device, I still should see all the peers in my netbird account and their connections.
And the screenshot I shared is a full screen shot. There are no other nodes on the canvas. There’s only one single node in the middle, shown without any connections. Initially it is my own Windows machine. I can click on it and select another peer, yes I can select from the whole list of my peers, but if I select another peer, than just this other selected peer is shown alone on the canvas without any connections.
But this overview should show multiple peers at once, and their ACPs as connecting lines.
yes, exactly. I can do that, if I click on those arrows you’ve shown, I see the whole list of my peers. But when I select one of these other peers, I’ll see only this new selected one.
Example: your node show truenas-home. and when you click on the arrows, you maybe can select another peer, let’s say you have also truenas-work. Yes, this works also for me, I see all my peers in this selection menu and can select another peer. But if I do, for example selecting truenas-work, then the truenas-home node will just be replaced with a truenas-work node. I always see only one node with no connections on this canvas.
In your snippet I can see on the right, a green dashed line starts there, showing a connection to another node (peer/ group/ network/ whatever). But I don’t see multiple nodes on the canvas and I don’t see any connections (green dashed lines), even though I have created policies and they are active.
Let’s say you have a policy that allows truenas-home to connect to truenas-work. So you likely see both peers on the canvas as two nodes and a green dashed line between them for an activated policy. But this is missing in my web panel. I don’t see truenas-home AND truenas-work AND a line between them on the canvas. I only see truenas-home XOR truenas-work and NO lines.
It feels like I missed something, some option to activate, some whatever, but I cannot find it, also not in the documentary, that’s why asking here for help.
Are you sure that the client has a group, or role to give it an ACL to your server or device that it has to reach? Or that it’s in the correct direction?
Yes, there are existing policies, direct and bi-directional Client ↔ Peer A, Client ↔ Peer B and so on. And the policies are working, I can activate the policy and reach Peer A and then deactivate it, to cancel the connection. So I have working policies, but they won’t be shown in the diagram.
