I have deployed netbird in a testenvironment to several workstations with the .msi file.
No issue here.
Yet, if I send the invite to new users, they land after login on the usual download page where they would select their OS to download the netbird application.
Is there a way that users will be connected intead?
As I mentioned, I already have installed the netbird client.
My users anayway are not able to install any application.
Thanks
Dan
Hello Dan,
In NetBird’s cloud version, when you invite users, they receive an email prompting them to reset their password. After completing this step, they usually log in to the NetBird dashboard.
Because their role is limited, they will only see the Add Peer page, which shows the installation instructions.
After resetting their password, you can instruct users to locate the NetBird client on their machine and open it from the system tray. From there, they simply need to click Connect to register their device.
Summary – short steps
- Invite the user via NetBird (cloud).
- User receives an email and resets their password.
- User sees the Add Peer page with install steps (limited role).
- User opens the NetBird client from the system menu.
- Then, in our system tray app, the user clicks Connect to register the machine.
Thanks. This is what I observed.
Isn’t there as simpler way?
Users are not going to reset their pasword since they will be authenticated by Azure. And Netbird is already installed..
In this case, you don’t need to invite them; if your account is using your organization’s domain, then your users just need to open the app and log in with their Azure account.
